Understanding Flow Rate & Head Height

When choosing a dirty water pump, it's important to understand how flow rate and head height affect performance.

• Maximum Head Height (12m): The maximum vertical height the pump can lift water, where the flow rate approaches zero.

• Rated Flow Rate (250 L/min): The stated operating flow rate under rated conditions.

• Rated Head Height (10m): The specified operating head for the pump.

Please Note: Maximum flow rate and maximum head height do not occur at the same time.

As the water needs to travel higher, the available flow rate generally decreases.

Pipe diameter, pipe length, bends and fittings can also affect performance.

For the best results, always select a pump based on your required flow rate at the actual operating height.
