ARE WATERHOUSE PRODUCTS SABS APPROVED?

HOW CAN WE USE THESE PRODUCTS?
– Water features – Ponds – Pool drainage – Evaporative cooler pumps – Generally utility pumping
DOES THIS PUMP NOT NEED A SPONGE FILTER?
No. Anything that can fit through the grid strainer of the front end, will be able to pass through the pump. We DISCOURAGE the use of sponges in the front filter as they block up to quickly and lead to burnout of the pump.
WHAT IS THE BEST POINT AT WHICH THE PUMP PERFORMS?
Usually you use keep the performances of the pump curve anywhere below and including the halfway mark of the curve for best results. The flow rate will diminish faster at the high end of the curve.
CAN PUMPS BE USED IN CHLORINATED POOLS?
Generally NO! They can be used to drain a pool but not permanently. Rinse pump after draining swimming pool. Only Swimming Pool pumps should be used in chlorinated water.
CAN PUMPS BE USED IN-LINE OR OUTSIDE THE WATER?
The Waterhouse range (WH) CANNOT be used outside water, but the Dragon Fly (DF) 2050,3050 and 5050 range can be used both inside or outside the water (Amphibious). This is because they have a treaded fitting under the strainer/filter that a pipe can be connected to for use outside the water.
IS MY PUMP BURNT OUT OR JUST NEEDING A REPAIR PART?
To find this out; Do our simple SELF CHECK: – Check that the pump has no power to it, by placing the magnet near the pump while plugged into power supply) If there is a vibration then that would more likely mean that the pump is fine and only needs a new impellor. If this is the case, then do not send the pump to Waterhouse for inspection, instead call us and we can arrange a new impellor for your pump. CAN WE CUT THE PLUG OFF?
Yes. This is not a problem as long as the cord is not cut shorter than 1m from the pump. This will not effect the warranty.
ARE THE PUMPS SPECIFICATIONS ACCURATE ON THE BOX/ GRAPH?
YES, you are welcome to test them against other suppliers’ specifications.
WHAT IF I HAVE SANDY WATER?
The sand will cause abrasive wear on the impellor and housing. This will happen very quickly so constant cleaning needs to be done. *Warranty will not apply as this is easily detected on inspection.TIP #1 – A stocking (panty hose) could be wrapped around the pump for protection. TIP #2 – A bucket placed at the bottom of the pond, with the opening facing UP can also be used. You would then place the pump inside the bucket. This will prevent the pump from sucking the sand directly from the bottom of your pond.

HOW LONG WILL MY DELIVERY TAKE TO GET TO ME?

CAN I RETURN MY ORDER IF I DO NOT WANT IT?
Yes, sure thing! You are welcome to return your order straight back to our warehouse for a refund. 51 Gerhardus Street, Strijdom Park, Randburg. Please use your order number as the parcel reference so we can generate a credit for you as soon as we receive the stock. Please note: Due to the nature of our products a 10% handling fee will be charged on all returns.
