Understanding Flow Rate & Head Height

When choosing a sewage or drainage pump, it's important to understand how flow rate and head height affect performance.

Maximum Flow Rate – 12,000 L/h

This is the highest stated water flow under low-resistance conditions.

Maximum Head Height – 8.5m

This is the maximum height the pump can lift water, at which the flow rate approaches zero.

As the pumping height increases, the available flow rate generally decreases.

Actual performance will also depend on the pipe diameter, pipe length, bends and fittings used in your installation.

Please Note: The pump will not deliver its maximum flow rate at its maximum head height.

Installation & Important Information

• Ensure the pump is correctly submerged during operation.

• Do not exceed the maximum immersion depth of 5 metres.

• The maximum liquid temperature must not exceed 40°C.

• Only pump compatible liquids within the specified pH range of 4–10.

• Do not attempt to pump solids larger than 25mm.

• Avoid abrasive solids that could damage the pump's internal components.

• Allow enough space for the float switch to move freely.

• Use compatible discharge piping with the 50mm outlet.

• Ensure all electrical connections are correctly installed and protected.

• Regularly inspect and clean the pump to maintain efficient performance.

Important: Although the DV-450-F is designed for sewage and dirty water drainage, it is not suitable for every type of sewage or wastewater. Avoid abrasive materials, oversized solids and incompatible chemicals.
