Description
12V DC Solar Booster Pump
Reliable Water Transfer for Off-Grid & Solar-Powered Systems
Need to move water around your property without relying on mains electricity? The 12V DC Solar Booster Pump is a practical and energy-efficient solution for transferring clean water in remote areas, gardens, farms and off-grid installations.
Designed to operate with a suitable solar power system, this compact 180W water pump is ideal for moving water from one location to another, whether you're filling a storage tank, supplying water to livestock troughs or transferring water for garden irrigation.
With a maximum flow rate of 1,500 litres per hour and a maximum head of 15 metres, it provides a convenient way to move smaller volumes of water where conventional electricity isn't readily available.
One of the biggest advantages of using a solar-powered water system is the ability to pump water into a storage tank during the day, allowing you to access the stored water later when sunlight isn't available.
Built with a durable cast iron housing, brass impeller and stainless steel shaft, this pump is designed for dependable water transfer in suitable domestic and agricultural applications.
Whether you're maintaining a vegetable garden, supplying water to animals or setting up a remote water storage system, the 12V DC Solar Booster Pump offers a practical alternative to conventional mains-powered pumping.
Why You'll Love It
-
Solar Compatible: Designed to operate with a suitable 12V solar power system.
-
Ideal for Off-Grid Locations: Perfect for farms, rural properties, cabins and areas without reliable electricity.
-
Maximum Flow Rate of 1,500 L/h: Transfers up to 25 litres of water per minute under ideal conditions.
-
Maximum Head of 15 Metres: Suitable for transferring water where moderate pumping height is required.
-
Powerful 180W Motor: Provides water transfer performance for smaller irrigation and storage applications.
-
Durable Brass Impeller: Designed for long-lasting performance and corrosion resistance.
-
Cast Iron Pump Housing: Provides a strong and durable pump body.
-
Stainless Steel Shaft: Offers additional durability and resistance to corrosion.
-
Compact Design: Easy to incorporate into compatible water transfer installations.
-
Flexible Power Options: Can operate using a regulated 12V solar system or compatible AC/DC power supply.
-
No Fuel Required: Solar operation eliminates the need for petrol or diesel during pumping.
-
Easy Manual Operation: Switch the pump on and off as required.
Perfect for Solar Water Transfer
The 12V DC Solar Booster Pump is particularly useful for properties where water needs to be moved from one location to another without access to conventional electricity.
For example, you can use the pump to transfer clean water from a suitable source into an elevated or ground-level storage tank during the day.
Once the tank is filled, the stored water can be used later for watering plants, supplying livestock or other compatible water supply applications.
This makes it a practical solution for remote areas where solar power is more convenient than installing electrical infrastructure.
Ideal Applications
-
Garden Irrigation: Transfer water for small garden watering systems.
-
Vegetable Gardens & Greenhouses: Supply water to suitable irrigation and storage systems.
-
Livestock Watering: Fill water troughs for cattle, sheep and other farm animals.
-
Rural Properties: Move water between tanks and storage containers.
-
Remote Cabins & Off-Grid Homes: Support water storage systems where mains electricity is unavailable.
-
Small Agricultural Applications: Transfer clean water for farming and irrigation.
-
Solar Water Storage: Pump water into a tank during daylight hours for later use.

Powering Your Solar Booster Pump
The pump operates on 12V DC and requires a suitable external power supply.
For solar-powered operation, the recommended setup includes:
-
Solar Panel: Minimum 200W capacity.
-
Voltage Regulator: Suitable 20A regulator.
-
Battery: Minimum 30Ah deep-cycle battery.
-
Pump: 12V DC, 180W.
The battery and regulator help provide a more stable power supply as sunlight conditions change.
Alternatively, the pump can operate using a suitable 220–240V AC to 12V DC transformer capable of supplying the required current.
Please note: The solar panel, voltage regulator and battery are not included with the pump.
Important Information
-
Manual Operation: This pump does not include automatic flow control or an automatic pressure switch. It must be switched on and off manually.
-
Clean Water Only: Suitable for clean water free from abrasive particles, solids and corrosive substances.
-
Solar Power Requirements: Use a properly regulated 12V power supply. Do not connect the pump directly to an unregulated solar panel.
-
Correct Power Supply: Ensure the power source can safely supply the required 15A operating current and accommodate motor start-up requirements.
-
Maximum Head: The 15-metre maximum head represents the pump's maximum pumping height under specified conditions. Actual flow decreases as pumping height and pipe resistance increase.
-
Pump Protection: Avoid operating the pump without water unless the manufacturer specifically confirms dry-run protection.
-
Installation: Ensure all pipe connections are secure and the pump is installed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
For best performance, match the pump to your required water flow, pumping distance and available solar power.
